The Grace To Obey From The Heart

The Lord Jesus Christ is our peace, and it is through Him that we have obtained mercy. Through His mercy He has offered us His grace in Christ. Because of His grace, we can be saved from sin, eternal damnation in hell, and our slavery to sin – we are no longer slaves to sin but are now salves to righteousness:

Romans 6:16–18 (NKJV/NAS)

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were committed. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

God’s grace gives us the ability to choose to obey and the power to obey Him. Through the power and help of God’s Holy Spirit, we willing obey “from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were committed.” (Greek: we were committed to the doctrines of grace in such a way that we were “constituted in salvation”* to obey them from our hearts.) Thank you Jesus!

Our loving God has committed us to being obedient to Him from our hearts. We are obedient to Him from our hearts because this is the work of transformation that He performs within us. This is how we are slaves to righteousness.

We must remain mindful of what He has done in our hearts. We must believe the facts: He has transformed our hearts by faith in the Gospel of Christ. Our transformation consists of being given His desires and His power to live for Christ making us a slave to righteousness – what a revelation and a joy this is!

The problem for all of us is whether or not we will believe His truth about us in Christ: that we ARE transformed by His grace, and we ARE given His desires and His power in order to obey His Word from our hearts. When we believe the truth of God’s doctrines, we will live in the power the truth of His teachings provide. We will actually live our daily lives operating in the power of His truth – how exciting and glorious!

All of God’s gracious work in our lives begins when we repent of our sins and believe the Gospel: Christ Jesus died on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, He ascended into heaven, and He is going to return to earth.

God bless you.

By God’s Grace

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also, we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” – Romans 5:1-2

In Acts 15:6-11, Peter teaches us that God chose, God gave the Holy Spirit, and God purified Gentile believers (non-Jews) by faith in Jesus Christ. He declared, “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved – even as they.” It is only by God’s grace that a person can be saved from eternal damnation in hell. God’s gift of eternal life is given to those who confess and believe that Jesus Christ is God and Savior, and who repent and believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His gift of salvation does not depend on one’s goodness but upon one’s faith in Jesus. This is God’s grace to us – we do not have to be perfect in order to receive His gift of salvation through Christ: “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Romans 10:9. “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, least any man should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9. “Be strong in the grace that is in our Lord Jesus Christ” – 2 Timothy 2:1.

The New Life

Jesus the Messiah of Israel claimed, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6, emphasis mine).

The Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, was crucified for your sins. He rose again from the dead three days later! He is presently alive. You can have a new life, in Christ, if you repent of your sins and believe His truth.

It’s up to you – do you want a new life? Do you want a real life? Do you want everlasting life or everlasting damnation in the Lake of Fire?

There is no other life – He is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

Christ Jesus is who you are missing in your life.

He will make all things new in your heart.

He is merciful, loving, and gracious… but He will return to this earth and judge those who have chosen to follow Satan.

By rejecting Christ as one’s God and Savior, a human being remains an enemy of Christ.

All who reject Christ remain servants of the “the prince of the power of the air” – Satan (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph.+2&version=KJV). However, Jesus the Messiah, will save you from Satan’s lies and enslavement to sin, and He will graciously make you His own.

Become a disciple of Jesus the Messiah of Israel; He is God, and He loves you (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=titus+2%3A13&version=KJV).

God bless you, dear friend.

May you know the Lord Jesus, the Messiah.
