The God of Abraham

The God of abraham

It is said that Jerusalem is holy to three monotheistic faiths: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. All three faiths lay claim to the God of Abraham.

However, who is the God of Abraham?

The God of Abraham declared His Name to be “I Am” – Exodus 3:14.

(Remember His Name.)

When Abraham was to offer his only son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to his God, he declared, “God will provide Himself the lamb for the burnt offering” Genesis 22:8.

The God of Abraham said that Abraham was a prophet (Genesis 20:7).

As a prophet, Abraham declared that God, Himself, would come “down from heaven” to be the Lamb for the offering – John 3:13.

In the Gospels, John the Baptist proclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,” when he saw Jesus Christ – John 1:29.

Jesus Christ fearlessly stated, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw it and was glad” – John 8:56.

When did Abraham see Christ’s day? In Genesis 22:14: “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.” This was the statement that Jesus Christ was referring to.

When Jesus told the religious rulers that Abraham “rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad,” the rulers responded, “You are not yet 50 years old, and you have seen Abraham?” – John 8:57.

Jesus Christ eliminated any doubts as to who He claimed to be when He answered, “Before Abraham was, I Am” – John 8:58.

Remember God’s Name?

The God of Abraham is absent from Islam and Talmudic Judaism, because the God of Abraham is Jesus Christ who is God the Son and in complete union with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit – Three in One – Matthew 28:19.

If your God is not the Lord God the Son, Jesus Christ, then your God is not the God of Abraham.

Abraham rejoiced to see Christ’s day.

Do you?

Abraham saw Jesus Christ’s day, and he was glad.

Are you?

Jesus Christ unashamedly challenged, “Unless you believe that I Am, you will die in your sins” – John 8:24.

Dying in your sins means going to hell.

You cannot go to heaven unless you repent of your sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ: that He died on the cross for you sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again from the dead the third day according to the Scriptures – 1 Corinthians 15; Romans 10:9-10.

Repent of your sins and believe in the One True God – God the Son – Jesus Christ, and you will receive forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has glorified His Son Jesus Christ by raising Him from the dead – Jesus Christ is presently alive – Acts 3:13.

There is only one thing left for you to do, deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus.

God bless.
