Paul’s HEART for The Philippian People. Philippians 1:1-5

Here is the PDF: Philippians 1.1-5

Paul’s heart for the Philippian people is a wonderful example of a heart transformed through the Gospel of Christ by the grace of God. Paul’s salutation is very humble – he calls Timothy and himself slaves of Christ instead of apostles of Christ. The Greek understanding of the word slave was a bond slave: one whose will is consumed by the will of his master. Are we slaves of Christ? May we humble ourselves to be His bond slave.

True apostles preach Christ, make disciples, and train believers to live the crucified life. The emphasis of their ministry is not miracles, signs, and wonders but on the Gospel of Christ. Though Christ performed miracles through the hands of his men, the emphasis of their ministries to the world were not on signs and wonders. Their emphasis was on the Lordship of Jesus Christ. A true apostle will preach the true Gospel of Christ everywhere he goes. Most of today’s modern apostles do not preach the Gospel everywhere they go, nor are they strictly dedicated to it. Most have hobbies, mansions, and wealth that detract them from the priority of living and preaching the Gospel – that which no true apostle of the New Testament possessed nor concerned themselves with.

Paul writes from his prison house in Rome. The emphasis is his letter is on the joy of the Gospel of Christ and his gratitude to the Philippian fellowship. He wrote this letter while in chains; may we learn from this most blessed letter of Scripture authored by none other than the Holy Spirit, Himself.

God bless you.

By God’s Grace

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also, we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” – Romans 5:1-2

In Acts 15:6-11, Peter teaches us that God chose, God gave the Holy Spirit, and God purified Gentile believers (non-Jews) by faith in Jesus Christ. He declared, “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved – even as they.” It is only by God’s grace that a person can be saved from eternal damnation in hell. God’s gift of eternal life is given to those who confess and believe that Jesus Christ is God and Savior, and who repent and believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His gift of salvation does not depend on one’s goodness but upon one’s faith in Jesus. This is God’s grace to us – we do not have to be perfect in order to receive His gift of salvation through Christ: “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Romans 10:9. “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, least any man should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9. “Be strong in the grace that is in our Lord Jesus Christ” – 2 Timothy 2:1.

Can I Be Forgiven?

SeasetWe need our sins forgiven.

That is the one issue between God and man – our sins.

God wants humanity to know that sin separates us from Him; however, He has made provision for our sins – His Son, Jesus Christ.

God has ordained Jesus Christ to be the Judge of the living and the dead. Jesus, our Judge, died on the cross for our sins – this was God’s will.

God wants to save us from the judgment that is coming for the world’s sins (all our sins combined) against Him. We will be condemned to hell if we chose not to be forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. When we reject Jesus Christ as our God and Savior, we remain enemies of God. Instead of loving God, we chose to love our sin.

Our sins can only be forgiven “through His name” and “whoever believes in Him shall receive forgiveness of sins” – Acts 10:43. God will forgive us is we will believe in Jesus Christ: that He is God, that He died on the cross for our sins, and that He rose again from the dead on the third day.

Forgiveness can only be granted by God, Himself. He said that if we believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, then He will forgive

of our sins.

May you believe in the Son of God – Jesus Christ – who died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead.

He is alive. He is the truth. He is what you are missing.

May the Lord Jesus reveal Himself to you.

God bless.

What The Heavens Declare

“The Heavens declare the glory of God and

the firmament shows His handiwork…” –

Psalm 19:1

The Milky Way galaxy is 100,000 light years wide and 1,000 light years deep. Our solar system is traveling at 515,000 mph in the Milky way. The earth’s mean velocity is 66,600 mph! It orbits around the sun in perfect harmony with the sun’s gravitational pull; century after century the earth has never veered off course! It never draws closer to or further from the sun – the earth’s average distance remains approximately 93,000,000 miles from this burning star. At 1070 mph, the earth rotates on its 23.5 degree axis; spring, summer, fall, and winter are the result of the earth’s 23.5 degree tilt and orbit around the sun.

Milky Way

So, at 1070 mph the earth rotates on its axis, at 66,600 mph it orbits the sun, and at 515,000 mph it moves within the Milky Way without colliding with other planets and stars! In regard to the earth, there is perfect harmony in our solar system unlike LA traffic! The earth is shielded by divine design!

There are billions and billions of galaxies in our universe and all of these galaxies are united in a chorus – in a proclamation that has been repeated for multiple millennia since the beginning of time. Every single star and planet of every single galaxy in this vast universe is proclaiming one thing.

Consider these universal facts:

“The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His glory” – Psalm 97:2

“The heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself. Selah” – Psalm 50:6

“Drop down ye heavens from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation,  and let righteousness spring up together; I, the LORD, have created it” – Isaiah 45:8

God’s righteousness is revealed through His creation; righteousness is the result of a continuum of righteous order; i.e., at no point either  in thought, heart, speech, or deed is there a lapse of absolute good (good as defined by the Creator) in the God of the Bible.

Righteousness is defined by God:

“And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?” – Deuteronomy 4:8

“Thy judgments are true and righteous all together. More to be desired are they than gold, yea than much fine gold: sweeter also than the honey and the honeycomb” Psalm 19:9-10

“Mine eyes fail for your salvation and for the word of thy righteousness” – Psalm 119:123

“Thy testimonies that you have commanded are righteous and very faithful” – Psalm 119:138

“The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live” – Psalm 119:144

“My tongue shall speak of thy word, for all thy commandments are righteous” – Psalm 119:172

The Scriptures teach us that God’s written Word is righteous, and we learn righteousness from reading His written Word: “All Scripture is given by inspiration from God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” – 2 Timothy 3:16.

What does His written Word teach us about His righteousness? God says, “So as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the Gospel to you that are at Rome also. For, I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes – to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written: the just shall live by faith” – Romans 1:15-17.

The “righteousness of God is revealed” in the Gospel of Christ! “The Heavens declare the righteousness of God!”

The heavens are speaking, lovingly shouting, and blasting out at the tops of their voices that Jesus Christ is both God and Savior!

Every single star and planet of every galaxy in this vast universe is declaring that Jesus Christ is both God and Savior of the world

If one studies the cosmos and does not come to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is LORD, then that study and its conclusion are flawed – each is a lie.

There is only one honest, true, and factual conclusion that can be gained from a thorough and ongoing study of the origin of the universe – Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures, He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, He ascended into heaven where He presently sits at the right hand of the Father, He presently governs the universe including all mankind in all the nations on earth, and He will one day return to this earth to physically establish His kingdom on it.

Whoever repents of their sins and believes in Jesus Christ will be saved from eternal damnation in hell and receive everlasting life.

True science incorporates faith in the Creator, Jesus Christ, who has revealed the origin of the universe.

You Can Have Your Sins Forgiven

“In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins…” – Colossians 1:14

Dear friend, are you burdened with the weight of a guilty heart?

Like a galley lost at sea and slapped by the invincible waves that surround it, you feel the sting of sorrow and regret as the waves of past foolishness and stupidity flood your mind.  You wish that you could run from your past and rid yourself of all the wrong things that you have done, but you cannot. The stain of your mistakes has imprinted your psyche like a hidden tattoo. If there were something you could do to remove the guilt that drowns your heart, you would do it.

The riptide of your past has channeled you in on every side, and your vain attempts at swimming out or being rescued have left you hopeless.

The blackness of sorrow has left your heart without hope, but there is a Light that shines in a dark place, dear reader.

There is a Hope that cannot be defeated.

There is Way that cannot be eroded.

Yes, the dark clouds of guilt and shame can be transformed into the brilliant days of Spring!

There is redemption! There is forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ stands as the SAVIOR upon the billows of rage and sorrow that have engulfed your blackened heart. The waves of guilt that mount up to heaven and crash down upon your tiny soul are no match for the Savior of the world. By His invincible might, He can pull you out of the whirlpool of despair that is plunging your soul into the abyss of hopelessness.

Jesus Christ is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD:

“Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” – John 8:12

Jesus Christ is the SAVIOR OF ALL MEN:

“For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe” – 1 Timothy 4:10

Jesus Christ WILL SAVE YOU:

“For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” – Luke 19:10

He will save you from the guilt and eternal consequences of your foolish, regrettable behavior known as sin.

The wages of sin is death:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 6:23

The guilt you feel in your soul is the result of the sins that you have committed against Christ Jesus. If you are not forgiven, then you are at this present time sentenced to eternal damnation in hellfire:

Mark 9:43-48

43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”

You can escape hell if you will repent (change your mind) and believe the Good News – the Gospel of Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

Acts 3:19

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 10:9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The LORD is gracious:

Psalm 145:8-9

“The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and full of mercy.

The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”

The LORD God of Israel loves you:

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:8

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

You can be saved.

You can have eternal life.

You can have a relationship with God.

You can have your sins forgiven.
