16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were committed. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Paul spent some time in fellowship with the believers in his home church and in Jerusalem. He had a heart for fellowship with God’s people. May we have a heart to be in fellowship with the Lord’s people as well. May we make fellowship a priority, for this is God’s design for believers and a chief result of believing the Gospel of Christ.
Moreover, Paul departed again on his third missionary journey strengthening all the disciples. We all need strength. God has designed believers to be strengthened in the faith in Christ and His Word through godly, loving, and mature leaders who are themselves bond slaves to Christ, filled with His Spirit, and students of His Word. May you, too, dear reader, be strengthened in the faith in Christ and in the rightly divided truth of the Bible.
I pray that you are in a fellowship where strengthening disciples in the faith in Christ is the priority and is accomplished through the preaching, teaching, and living of the written Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.
God bless you.

Paul was faithful to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He wasn’t afraid to let the Jews know that their rejection of the Gospel was rebellion against the God of Israel. Justus and Crispus come to know the Lord Jesus Christ through the truth of the Gospel – the power of God to salvation to all who believe: to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
These verses are filled with hope for all who believe the Gospel. Our Lord Jesus is the gracious God who loves us, gave His life for us, and rose again from the dead. He has shared His victory over sin and death with us! May we understand our victory over sin and death through the wonderful truth of the Messiah of Israel – our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
God bless you, dear reader.
“Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness” Psalm 107:8-9.
For so many in our country, life is dissatisfying and empty. The masses go from one thing to another hoping to find satisfaction, peace, and true happiness.
We all know people who fill themselves with drugs – smoking and drinking whatever they can find – in order to harness enduring satisfaction within.
We all know people who are preoccupied with fitness, charities, ministries, businesses, academics, politics, etc. because it helps to ease the emptiness created by the knowledge that life is abominably empty, temporary, and difficult.
The Scriptures teach that “to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”
Many people are lost in the sea of dissatisfaction: with their jobs, their marriages, their relationships, their music, their wealth, etc. because only Christ can fill the hungry soul with goodness – His goodness.
The blessing of satisfaction and fulfillment are spiritual, but many people try fill their lives up with physical, temporal things that only the spiritual benefits of faith in Christ can produce in the human heart.
No one outside of a covenant relationship with God by faith in the Gospel of Christ will experience enduring, eternal satisfaction and fulfillment in their souls.
Only the Lord Jesus can satisfy the longing soul. Only the Lord Jesus can fill the hungry soul with His goodness.
Are you longing for something more in life? Are you hungry for something more in your life? The Lord Jesus Christ is the answer! He will fill your hungry soul. He will satisfy your longing soul with His goodness. Christ died on the cross for your sins, and He rose again from the dead on the third day. Whoever repents (turns from) their sins and trusts Christ as their God and Savior, will be saved from eternal damnation in hell.
Christ is the only One that can fill and satisfy the hungry soul with His goodness.
It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will open your heart to the truth of Christ Jesus – the Lord God of heaven and earth – and that you put your faith and trust in Him.
God bless you, dear friend.
That is the one issue between God and man – our sins.
God wants humanity to know that sin separates us from Him; however, He has made provision for our sins – His Son, Jesus Christ.
God has ordained Jesus Christ to be the Judge of the living and the dead. Jesus, our Judge, died on the cross for our sins – this was God’s will.
God wants to save us from the judgment that is coming for the world’s sins (all our sins combined) against Him. We will be condemned to hell if we chose not to be forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. When we reject Jesus Christ as our God and Savior, we remain enemies of God. Instead of loving God, we chose to love our sin.
Our sins can only be forgiven “through His name” and “whoever believes in Him shall receive forgiveness of sins” – Acts 10:43. God will forgive us is we will believe in Jesus Christ: that He is God, that He died on the cross for our sins, and that He rose again from the dead on the third day.
Forgiveness can only be granted by God, Himself. He said that if we believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, then He will forgive
of our sins.
May you believe in the Son of God – Jesus Christ – who died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the dead.
He is alive. He is the truth. He is what you are missing.
May the Lord Jesus reveal Himself to you.
“In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins…” – Colossians 1:14
Dear friend, are you burdened with the weight of a guilty heart?
Like a galley lost at sea and slapped by the invincible waves that surround it, you feel the sting of sorrow and regret as the waves of past foolishness and stupidity flood your mind. You wish that you could run from your past and rid yourself of all the wrong things that you have done, but you cannot. The stain of your mistakes has imprinted your psyche like a hidden tattoo. If there were something you could do to remove the guilt that drowns your heart, you would do it.
The riptide of your past has channeled you in on every side, and your vain attempts at swimming out or being rescued have left you hopeless.
The blackness of sorrow has left your heart without hope, but there is a Light that shines in a dark place, dear reader.
There is a Hope that cannot be defeated.
There is Way that cannot be eroded.
Yes, the dark clouds of guilt and shame can be transformed into the brilliant days of Spring!
There is redemption! There is forgiveness through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Jesus Christ stands as the SAVIOR upon the billows of rage and sorrow that have engulfed your blackened heart. The waves of guilt that mount up to heaven and crash down upon your tiny soul are no match for the Savior of the world. By His invincible might, He can pull you out of the whirlpool of despair that is plunging your soul into the abyss of hopelessness.
Jesus Christ is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD:
“Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” – John 8:12
Jesus Christ is the SAVIOR OF ALL MEN:
“For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe” – 1 Timothy 4:10
Jesus Christ WILL SAVE YOU:
“For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” – Luke 19:10
He will save you from the guilt and eternal consequences of your foolish, regrettable behavior known as sin.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 6:23
The guilt you feel in your soul is the result of the sins that you have committed against Christ Jesus. If you are not forgiven, then you are at this present time sentenced to eternal damnation in hellfire:
“43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
The LORD is gracious:
“The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and full of mercy.
The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
You can be saved.
You can have eternal life.
You can have a relationship with God.
You can have your sins forgiven.
