Disciples Never Cease to Live by Faith

Disciples Live By Faith

I am not into self-help, positive confession, or positive thinking.

I am into what the LORD God of the Bible says.

The God of the Bible gives me faith filled optimism simply because I believe what He has written in His Word.

The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” – Romans 10:17.

We need to read the Bible and study the Bible because we want to hear His truth with the ears of our hearts and receive the faith of God that is the result of hearing the Word of God.

Faith is necessary, for without faith we can never please God: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” Hebrews 11:6.

We need to live a life that is pleasing to God and worthy of the Gospel we say we believe by faith – Hebrews 11.

By faith in Christ, we can live empowered by Christ to the glory of Christ – Romans 6-8.

To live the Christ empowered life, we need faith in Him: who He is, what He has accomplished, and what He is yet to do. We learn these truths about Him through the Scriptures. As we learn the Scriptures, we are to believe them and do them: “But you be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving your own selves” – James 1:22.

Our life in Christ, lived through Christ, all begins with faith in Christ and continues by faith in Christ: “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet, not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me” – Galatians 2:20.

As disciples of Christ Jesus our Lord, we are to never cease to live by faith: “For we walk by faith not by sight” – 2 Corinthians 5:7.

By God’s Grace

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also, we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” – Romans 5:1-2

In Acts 15:6-11, Peter teaches us that God chose, God gave the Holy Spirit, and God purified Gentile believers (non-Jews) by faith in Jesus Christ. He declared, “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved – even as they.” It is only by God’s grace that a person can be saved from eternal damnation in hell. God’s gift of eternal life is given to those who confess and believe that Jesus Christ is God and Savior, and who repent and believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His gift of salvation does not depend on one’s goodness but upon one’s faith in Jesus. This is God’s grace to us – we do not have to be perfect in order to receive His gift of salvation through Christ: “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Romans 10:9. “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, least any man should boast” – Ephesians 2:8-9. “Be strong in the grace that is in our Lord Jesus Christ” – 2 Timothy 2:1.

Saved By Grace

“For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Not of works least any man should boast. For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”

Ephesians 2:8-10

These are remarkable words!

Every soul must be saved in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven – to go to Heaven.

No man or woman past, present, or future will go to Heaven if they are not saved.

You and I must be saved from the wrath of Almighty God that is going to come upon us unless we are forgiven.

We must be forgiven of our sins; our sins are too numerous to count. All of us have sinned. We have all turned aside from following what is true and holy. We have all chosen to sin and are doomed to eternal damnation in Hell if we are not saved.

Jesus, the Christ, became a man though He was fully God! He suffered on the cross to pay our debt of sin; He rose again from the dead to prove to all humanity for all eternity that He is Godthe Way, the Truth, and the Life.

He rose from the dead and has proved that He ALONE has the power to forgive sin and save our souls from the eternal, conscious damnation that is the result of the wrath of God.

It is because of God’s grace that we can be saved from the wrath of God. God’s grace is God’s favor toward us; instead of destroying us for rebellion and sin against Him, He offers us GRACE. He offers grace because of His great, great love for us. His grace provides salvation from His wrath for our sin – we can be saved! We can be born again!

All that is required of us is that we BELIEVE His Gospel message. Because of God’s grace, we can be saved by simple faith in Jesus Christ: in His death and resurrection!

Repentance is also required. We must repent of our rebellion and sin. We must bear fruits that show that we have truly repented and turned to Christ.

The result of repentance and faith in Christ is that we will do good works. When we repent and believe the Gospel, God changes our hearts. When our hearts change, we begin doing the right things – things that honor Christ. Our behavior, speech, thoughts, and emotions are transformed through the power of Christ’s Spirit. We no longer seek to do the wrong, sinful things that we used to do.

Beloved of the Lord, are you born again? Are you saved? Has the grace of God transformed your wicked heart into a heart of obedience?

The Lord God of Israel loves you. It is because of His love that He offers you His grace to escape the conscious, eternal damnation of Hell. You must repent and believe – you must put your faith in Christ. When you do this, His Spirit will enter your heart, and you will begin to live a transformed, holy life.

May you know the grace of God and be saved.

The LORD bless you.
